Love All the Way

April 5, 2020

  • Pastor Jason
  • Lent
  • Mark

Other kings rode horses, other kings conquered nations, other kings ruled through fear and displays of power. Anointed beforehand for his death, this One is different. He will free His people through the power of a cross, will die there for a world that betrays and denies Him, will be raised from the grave and rule with beauty and justice from heaven and in the hearts of all who trust in Him. There is no other King like this.

Loving Well

March 23, 2020

  • Pastor Jason
  • Lent
  • Mark

There’s a lot of talk about neighbors in scripture. People love to ask Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?” One central idea in the Hebrew Bible is showing hospitality, Jesus carries this into His ministry when he preaches the sermon on the mount, feeds 5,000, and teaches about caring for the least of those among us. Loving the neighbor is deeply connected to loving God and our true act of worship.

There’s Something Missing

March 1, 2020

  • Pastor Jason
  • Lent
  • Mark

I don’t expect many of you will go today and sell everything that you have and give the money to the poor. But if you’d like to, the ushers will be standing by, just in case. The truth is we’re missing something too. Our will is still bound to sin, we are still unable to fully be as we were created to be, unafraid, unselfish, fully trusting in the goodness of God, especially if we’ve already suffered, already been hurt by the world, and the people in it. We are unable to do for ourselves what is really needed.
